Made in 2013 this was my first ever attempt at a “proper” short film. I hardly knew where to start and it was so much work I hardly slept for a month whilst in pre-production – but I loved every minute. At this point I’d already been acting in films for several years and I was very lucky that some of the wonderful filmmakers I’d worked with agreed to come and be in my crew. Their experience and support made my job so much easier. I was also really lucky with the two lead girls that I cast (Francesca Turton and Megan Tame) and the mother (Shelly Draper). The performances were all just exactly what I had hoped for and film festivals agreed. The film went on to win lots of awards at a variety of different festivals and Francesca (of whom I’m a long term fan) was awarded Best Performer by Hollywood Women’s Independent Film Festival.
